Patience, Not Miracles
Actualizing our potential is a long-distance run with
no shortcuts, writes HARA DAVIS.
What is self-mastery? Actually, the word scares me. It obviously
involves change, challenge, tests, and trials, and therefore courage.
But I believe it is our raison d’etre, our goal in life. It’s what we are
working towards—what we are living for. It is who we really are.
Our Thought Adjusters are doing all they can to help us become more
than we are at this moment. It’s all about getting out of our own way
and realising our potential. It is the process of becoming. That’s what
mastering the self is all about.
The self is made up of body, mind, spirit (our Thought Adjuster), soul
(the self that survives mortal death), and the personality given to us by
God—unique and changeless, distinguished by self-consciousness and
free will. So the
