He refused to attend his first Passover in
Jerusalem unless his mother also attended
(inspiring other women in the village to
attend) and he was affronted when his
mother was relegated to the women's
gallery and not allowed to attend his
consecration ceremony 125:0.4 (1377.4).
This early belief in the equality of the
sexes later led to the establishment of the
women's corps and their ordination.
We can admire
his decisions and
we can learn from
his life
Monitor Your Personality
These are only a few of the important life
decisions made by Jesus as a child and
youth as presented in Part IV of The
Urantia Book. By his choice, he was as
skillfully diverse in his interests and
abilities as any human could be, both
then and now. We can admire his
decisions and we can learn from his life.
When he was teaching his apostles, he
advocated self-forgetfulness in service.
But he never neglected to teach them the
value of rest, recreation, and family time
interwoven into work and worship. He also
advocated for balance in the life of his
apostles.
The focus of our balance may shift from
seasonal pressures but it is up to us to
monitor our personality health so that our
indwelling fragment of God may take
pleasure and find it easy to partner with
us in every aspect of our daily life.
Of Jesus it was said, "He trusted God.” He
trusted his Father as a little child trusts his
earthly parent. He only asks us to do the
same
